Can The Holy Cross Crusaders Change Their Fortunes In 2011?

For fishing games enthusiasts looking for a dark horse pick to make a run in the upcoming 2012 March Madness tournament, look no further than the Holy Cross Crusaders. Despite finishing last in division one basketball for the last two seasons, a new coaching staff for the second consecutive year, has sports betting handicappers, we included believing that Holy Cross can finally turn things around.

Over the past two seasons, the Holy Cross Crusaders have gone an abysmal three and 20 in games decided by five points or less. Simply put, when looking for a team to fade in the college basketball betting, no team has been a wiser choice then the Holy Cross Crusaders. As the three and two record indicates, the Crusaders defense comparable to the Toronto Raptors of the NBA has trouble holding down leads.

However, also comparable to the Raptors, when it comes to blowing out other bad teams, the Crusaders have won their fair share of games. Meaning to say, with Head Coach Milan Brown and his staff returning for another season, it stands to reason, that the Crusaders can and will improve on their overall quality of play.

What’s perhaps most intriguing about the Crusaders, is that they have been bad more or less because of growing pains over the years rather then anything else. As we mentioned earlier, the team has gone through a barrage of coaching staffs and player personnel changes. But, as we also noted, having Milan Brown back for another year, should allow Crusader players to feel comfortable heading into this season. Ideally, if the Crusaders can buy into Brown’s systems this year, the team should be able to transition into one of the better teams in their division.
